Joshua Cross is an aspiring tech enthusiast, digital marketer, and content producer in Nashville, TN. He has assisted in building two 7-figure eCommerce companies (The SalesMentor, LLC, The Cash-Flow Specialist) from the ground up, edited and filmed winning ad-creatives that generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in monthly gross revenue, and helped over 10,000+ people get jobs in one of the most significant economic downturns in history.


Throughout his professional career, Joshua has worked with industry leading companies all over the U.S., including Music Business Association, NSAI, Brainfarm Cinema, Wolvvs Entertainment, Red Bull Media House, Highmark Health, S.C. Johnson, Starkist, H.G. Heinz, Microsoft, Music Business Association, USA Today, and Microsoft. He received a Bachelors of Business Administration from Belmont University’s Massey School of Business, and won awards for entrepreneurship and academic excellence.

Joshua Cross is a native from Upstate New York who moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2016 to enhance his education and pursue a career in the music industry. After completing his Bachelors of Business Administration (B.B.A) from Belmont University’s Massey School of Business , he fell in love with entrepreneurship, technology and digital marketing. In the future, he looks to build and develop inspiring tools and applications that encourage collectivity and resourcefulness.

At an early age, Joshua worked his way up the corporate ladder at one of the largest health insurance conglomerates in the U.S., Highmark Health , parent company to BlueCross Blue Shield, Federal Employee Programs, AFL-CIO, and various unions across the country. In under four years, he became Highmark’s youngest escalations manager, addressing high-level, escalated concerns from priority groups and unions, and managing and educating contact center operations to over 500+ employees.

In his free time, he set webinar appointments for an email marketing agency ( HIPB2B ), owned a successful live events company ( Heady Productions, LLC ), and played in a band that toured warp tours and sold sync licenses to hit TV shows such as The Kardashians, One-Tree Hill, and The Hills ( The Narrowcast ). He also volunteered at The Boys and Girls Club and local homeless shelters, and helped raise over $90,000 for the Chris McCormack Cambodian Relief Children's Fund through various events and crowdfunding efforts.

In 2015, he quit his corporate full-time job, and went to college full-time to finish his degree in business administration. While in college, he worked part-time as a front-desk supervisor at a hotel. A year later, he finished his associates with a 3.75 GPA from SUNY Hudson Valley Community College , and was accepted to Belmont University’s Massey School of Business in Nashville, Tennessee.

While Joshua earned his BBA from Belmont University, Joshua was a member of DECA Collegiate and won the Entrepreneurship Cluster award at ICDC in Washington D.C .. He achieved dean’s list and was a distinguished member of Belmont University's Copyright Society (BUSC). Also, Joshua was the ambassador of operations and production for a non-profit organization called YEP Nashville . He attended monthly board meetings, supported and promoted industry-networking events, and helped create the first YEP Podcast , recording, editing and producing the music and interviews. Joshua also volunteered at several live events, including MusicBiz , WinterJam , and NSAI’s Tin Pan South , and planted trees at public schools in partnership with Nashville’s Urban Development program .

Throughout Joshua’s professional career in college, he interned at several companies where he developed a unique, technical and creative skill set. He was the production liaison for the Music Business Association , where he learned how to manage and delegate responsibilities to a team of volunteers, organize and execute seminars, and manage and mitigate unforeseen challenges. As a data analyst for Aloompa (app development company), Joshua learned how to build and interpret big data systems in Data Studio using Google Analytics, how to synchronize RFID chips, and how to migrate databases from Salesforce to Google Cloud. Moreover, Joshua interned as a content creator and editor at Nashville Songwriter Association International (NSAI), where he learned how to record and edit podcasts remotely, filmed important, high-level interviews, and reported on website data using Google Analytics and YouTube.

Post graduation, Joshua worked as a project manager for a podcast production agency called Media Empathy, LLC . In his role, he managed, supported, organized, and published weekly digital media content and podcast assets for over 15+ podcasting clients. He produced over 800+ podcast episodes, thousands of digital media assets and content, and attributed over 1MM streams worldwide.

Also, Joshua contracted as a corporate AV Technician for 5th and Magee , PTP Live , and 4Wall Entertainment . He loaded and drove commercial vehicles, and maintained, set up, and took down AV equipment systems, truss support, lighting, and installments for live corporate events in New York, Los Angeles, Pittsburg, Chicago, and Nashville. Some of the events included CommerceNext , H.J. Heinz Corporation , Nashville Adventure Science Center , Fort Houston , Starkist , S.C. Johnson , Microsoft , and Writer’s Digest .

The end of 2019, Joshua was hired as a digital marketing content specialist for Traffic and Funnels, LLC at E.W. Incorporated (a marketing consultancy conglomerate that helps client businesses, entrepreneurs, and business professionals grow and scale their companies and careers). He created various videos and podcast assets for social media, managed and created blog posts, and built and formatted sales web pages. Joshua was promoted to project manager and marketing technologist for E.W. Inc’s professional career center arm, The SalesMentor, LLC .

As a project manager and marketing technologist for The SalesMentor, Joshua integrated various Saas programs using backend APIs, JavaScript, and multi-step Zaps, managed CRM platforms, created, monitored, and automated email marketing campaigns, A/B tested and built multiple sales funnels in ClickFunnels and Wordpress, managed, engaged, and updated Facebook pages and groups, filmed, edited and produced video ads, created content and brand strategies for eLearning platforms, created billing automation, setup eCommerce products, reported on KPIs using Google Analytics and data systems, and managed and organized tags.

From January to May of 2020, The SalesMentor grew from $30K per month to over $1.5MM at a 40% profit. By the end of October, The SalesMentor’s annual gross revenue exceeded over $10MM.

In November 2020, EW Capital consolidated The SalesMentor’s tech team and dissolved Joshua’s position at the company.

Since November 2020, Joshua has been hard at work applying to various companies in Nashville and surrounding areas. He has also increased his skill-set and knowledge of digital marketing and technology, reinforcing his knowledge of SEO, HTML, CSS, and Google Analytics.

Currently, Joshua is a marketing automation manager at Primary Residential Mortgage, and is attending Vanderbilt’s Owens Graduate School of Business and Engineering in their Full-Stack Engineer Coding Bootcamp. In the future, Joshua hopes to work for an inspiring company that is helping and positively impacting peoples lives, and build technology that will encourage collectivity and resourcefulness.
